Due to the health and safety of staff and patients we are requiring several steps to be taken to avoid cross contamination. We treat several people that are immuno-compromised so our due diligence and faithfulness will help protect them and hopefully prevent exposure. We know that some may find this inconvenient or objectionable, but under the circumstances we believe the added safety at our physical therapy practice protects everyone. This notice may be updated at any time due to evolving data and guidelines.
We are adhering to these steps because we are in close contact with patients and want to decrease risks of spreading the virus. Please be on time due to the time it takes to complete the following protocol and the time that is needed for checking patients in and out.
All Staff and patients will be required to wear a face covering that covers the mouth and nose at all times while here at OutBack. We will continue disinfecting contact surfaces between each patient.
The following will continue to be in place until the CDC states differently:
*We will not treat anyone with any of the following symptoms in the last 10 days – fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, unusual body aches, diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell, or fatigue. If you have any of these symptoms or feel sick in general, please stay home. Please do not assume it is allergies or a cold. Please call to cancel.
*We will not treat anyone that has been around a person with the above symptoms in the last 10 days. In regards to traveling on a plane per CDC, you can return to therapy after 10 days or test negative at 7 days. (Please bring your results to the next visit) This also applies to patients that have been around others that have traveled on a plane and or exposed to someone that has COVID-19.
*At this time we are requesting a negative COVID test result 3 days prior to first appointment for first responders (i.e. EMT’s, health care professionals that work in the ER or treat patients with COVID-19).
*Upon arrival here, we are asking patients to remain in their car until waved in or called in. Your temperature will be taken and recorded in your chart. You will not be seen if it is over 99.3.
*Co-pays or any payments will be taken next.
*After this transaction you will place your belongings in a bin in the therapists’ room. Then you will be asked to wash your hands either with Purell or in bathroom. Please note that you will still be required to wash you hands even if you have gloves on.
*If you need to touch your items (i.e. phone) we will ask you to re-wash your hands to avoid cross contamination.
*If you need to use the restroom please do so before treatment to help with cleaning procedures. As an added PRECAUTION, we are asking patients to wash their hands BEFORE using the restroom (and after) to avoid cross contamination from your clothes which we may touch while you are being treated.
*We will have patients avoid crossing paths in the lobby to keep the 6 feet apart social distancing requirement.
*Making appointments will be done over the phone.
*Please do not bring anyone to your appointment unless you need help to walk to front door, this person will be required to wear a face covering.
*No one will be able to sit in the lobby or with the patient during the treatment (unless a child under 18 years old is being treated).
*We will wipe down any assistive devices.
Thank you for your understanding.
